Article Review: Some Soul-searching Is Necessary When Advising Daughter on Marriage

There are many times fathers have opportunities to give advice to children as they mature and grow up.  This is true in giving advice on choosing a marriage partner, particularly with daughters.

I originally wrote this article in August, 1989:

Some Soul-searching Is Necessary When Advising Daughter on Marriage

Tammy eventually married, and you may wonder if she followed my advice.  She did marry a man of God.  They met each other while doing missionary service for their Church.  When that was completed, they married, and her husband was recruited to play football for the University of Wisconsin Badgers.  The team excelled with him as quarterback, and they won the Rose Bowl in 1994.  As parents, Susan and I were both proud and pleased with Tammy's choice for a husband.   He is not only Tammy's husband but now also the father of their three daughters, Kylie, Morgan, and Hailey.   What is his job now?  He is Offensive Coordinator for the 2014 Super Bowl Champions, The Seattle Seahawks.  His name?  Darrell Bevell. And he is also still a man of God.
